The FleXlean concept

FleXlean is a concept that allows the western manufacturing industry to compete with ‘low-wage’ countries. It consists of a series of standard building blocks that can be fitted together like ‘Legos’ to form both manual and fully automated assembly lines.

Its distinguishing qualities are:

• Highly versatile
  The system can handle product dimensions up to 400 x 350 mm. Cycle times of one product per second are attainable.
• Expands with production needs
  The ‘building block’ principle allows manual stations to be easily upgraded to fully automatic ones.
• Short change-over times
  The stations have been designed to be flexible so that changing a station from one product to the next is a matter of minutes.
• Reusable
  After a product’s economic life cycle has ended, the line’s building blocks can be easily reused for a new product.
• Operational lease option
  Because of the high degree of standardisation, it is possible to lease the building blocks instead of buying them. You pay per manufactured product. An operational lease includes line maintenance and guarantees output.
